[REVIEW] Pet to the Tentacle Monsters! by Lilia Ford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Recommended to Kynthos-the-Archer by: ARC from author.
Recommended for: Fans of noncon tentacles erotica
Read from January 02 to 06, 2015 — I own a copy, read count: 1

Snugly Tentacles. Tentacled Dom. Erotic Rapey Tentacles. How fun!

I used to lament that many so-called tentacle erotica out there tends to stinge on actual tentacles action. Most of the times readers have to be content with only a fraction of the goodies promised. Maybe just a short one or two scenes with tentacles sexing and the rest of the book are fillers upon fillers. So it's a nice change to find that this is absolutely not the case with Pet to the Tentacle Monsters!. The book was a chock-full of tentacles goodness in every erogenous as well as ahem non-erogenous hole.

It's exciting to find more than half of the book was dominated by scenes after kinky scenes of tentacles action from the cute and sparkly kind, the dominating and controlling to the sadistic and forceful variety. Poor Benji our young delinquent toy boy for the tentacle monsters was thrown into a frenzy of emotions. While trapped in the new and strange environment he gained precious friendship, learned contentment from his submission and what shock his system most was the intense pleasure he found through the sadistic play one of his masters seems to favor. This new side of him was confusing and the mental challenge was so great he was at a loss on how to handle it without fully breaking down.

The book is kinky. It has a long list of kinks going on but I would only list a few here:

Lots of this...
The breathplay was a nice touch.

Some of this...
I do like the syrupy fluid but it would be nicer if it has a function like a calming effect, a muscle relaxant or better still an aphrodisiac. Nothing beats having them fighting against forced arousal.

There's quite alot of this...
I like the corporal punishments but wish I could get into the head of either the one inflicting it or the recipient of it. Standing outside of the scene watching it from the side isn't as much fun as knowing what goes on in their mind while it's happening.

A touch of CBT as encouragement for obedience.

Generally there are wonky parts in the plots and writing but overall it is a nice tentacle erotica that actually delivers the porn as well as the plot. Hell, the tentacle porn starts as early as 20-30% into the book. This means that 70% of the book was pure kink since it was marathon tentacle action as soon as the kink engine started. Fans of noncon tentacle sex would love the forced orgasms, sexual torture and fruitless struggles of the violated innocence.

Don't be afraid to try this book out because Kitty here knows best when it comes to soothing the hurt and comforting the soul. Just so you know, there's plentiful of hurt & comfort in this book and I prefer Silver's version of hurt & comfort play the most.

Lastly one more thing to share; everybody loves Kitty except me. Begone Kitty.

[MANGA REVIEW] The Annihilation End Suction Cloister - Devouring Leech by Fuu Takaishi

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Recommended to Kynthos-the-Archer by: Curiosity killed the cat
Read on August 09, 2014, read count: 1

A bunch of girls ventured into a tunnel like place and got intercepted by a horrible tentacle creature. There's no plot whatsoever, just pure smut. Said creature just fucked the girls' brains out. The Japanese use the term ahegao to represent 'fucked silly'.

First time I've ever heard of this term, 'Nipple Penetration'. Pretty interesting and somewhat hawt. Also be warned that this hentai manga contains vorarephilia.

[REVIEW] Nicholi's Vengeance by J.A. Jaken

Nicholi's Vengeance

Read from October 6th, 2013 till now - Unable to finish

DNF! Might re-attempt. Main character stepping all over my pet peeve.

I could not finish it. Stuck at 20%. The characters was pissing me off. That MC should be wearing a skirt. Oh gawd! his whining is particularly nerve-grating. Yes unfortunately this book has triggered one of my biggest pet peeve - whinny characters especially main characters.

I might try to pick it up again, one fine day, maybe, just maybe. It's not healthy to wish for those brutes that captured the MC earlier had cut his throat instead of letting him off.

[REVIEW] Beautiful by Liliaeth

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Read on April 22, 2014 — I own a copy, read count: 1

I am so torn on the rating. Liliaeth is a creative storyteller and her fanfics are compelling but most of it touches a taboo subject I am not keen on.

Truthfully this story is very addictive and the events is like a train wreck you couldn't look away. Because of this, I have to give this a 4 stars despite the sensitive subject within that I am not comfortable with. If only it does not have an underage MC it would have scored 4.5 to 5 stars. I have to ignore the stated age of the MC and go with the adult Dean as per the TV series for my own comfort.

What could I say? Petplay when done right is like crack to me. I am a total sucker for it.

[REVIEW] Father Figure by Kichiku Neko & TogaQ

Father FigureFather Figure by Kichiku Neko & TogaQ
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Recommended by: I am a fan of Kichiku Neko & TogaQ. Love all of Guilt|Pleasure's production
Recommended for: Pick it up if you like - Taboo, Dark Psychological Criminal theme
Read from November 20 to 22, 2013, read count: 1

5 Stars for being such a Unique Taboo Read that Scrambles My Senses

Blood relation, just how important is that? How strong could that bond be? Is it possible to love a total stranger? Especially if that stranger shared an unbreakable bond with you?

Gabriel developed an unhealthy obsession with a man, a stranger he had hoped to get to know better and ultimately be loved by. Uriel was the father he had longed for ever since he was a child. He was bitter when he found out Uriel has a happy little family of his own now and a favored son two years his junior upon leaving his mom behind. He hated the other woman who took away what should have been his and his alone. No one should compete with him for Uriel's attention and affection. Uriel owed him that. And he will make sure his father understands it even if he has to hurt him in order for him to learn. Afterall as the saying goes "spare the rod, spoil the child", an ironic phrase for them but it is one Gabriel deemed as the right recourse to steer his Father's affection towards him.

What transpired between this pair of long-lost father and son upon their ill-fated meeting was supremely taboo and disturbing enough to make you feel so wrong and conflicted for even reading it, yet you will find it hard to stop. You just had to know why, why Gabriel did what he did, and to find out what would Uriel do to salvage both of them from any further destruction? Do we really owe that much to our own child? How much are we willing to sacrifice for own flesh and blood?

Love can be the most beautiful thing in this world. Love can also be the ugliest thing when directed by a distorted perception. Love can be hellish. To a man like Gabriel, to love is to possess wholly, to claim full ownership, to be kept close by his side irregardless of consequences. I am still unsure if all those vile acts Gabriel subjected on Uriel is even remotely redeemable.

Since the story is narrated all by the perpetrator himself, we would get to feel his every volatile emotion and his twisted reasoning. At times, the intensity of his insanity makes me shudder with disbelief and horror. Books of such nature fascinates me till no ends. Being in the mind of a delusional, unstable person gives our mind such a great workout. Needless to say, there's never a dull moment in this book. My adrenaline was kept high throughout the reading.

I must say, the angst in this story is just superb. It has precisely the right amount to keep me satisfied and on a constant emotional high.

Okay, to be on the blunt side, this is a taboo book and it is ILLUSTRATED. I repeat, IT IS ILLUSTRATED. The taboo acts are ILLUSTRATED. There, I got it off my chest and feeling much better already. I can assure you that TogaQ's artwork is to die for and the illustrations are aptly applied. It heighten the experience and shake up our emotion. If you wanna know, there are a total of 19 illustrations in this book. I wish I could show some of it here but I had to refrain from spoiling the story and lessening the shock effect. Plus I would hate to be flagged by those well-meaning-GR-police. I must clarify that not all of the illustrations are smutty, there are a couple of those safe-for-work types too.

If you are those who aren't easily disturbed by taboo reads that contains high level of incest with a dose of dark psychological and criminal theme, then this book should be a winner for you. Angst addict would definitely adore it too. As for those looking for sweet romance.. please look elsewhere. The only romance to be found here is an utterly twisted one.

On account of how much this story had lodged itself deep within me, a 5 stars rating is a given thing. In fact, most books that graces my 5 stars shelf are those that had left its indelible mark on me.

Side note to all: For sake of world peace and personal safety; NEVER EVER have unprotected sex, NEVER EVER forsake your own children. OR you might just find yourself reliving Uriel's nightmare.
[ I ran my fingers through his hair; it was soft. There was a kind of excitement that went through me then that felt sexual. This man was my father. He used to belong to someone else and now he belonged to me. ]

[REVIEW] Crazy by Cari Waites

Recommended by: ARC extended to me by the author
Recommended for: True Dark Erotica fans
Read from November 17 to 18, 2013 — I own a copy

Braingasmic 5 Stars!

Braingasm feels so divine. It's SO gud, I shivers with delight.

The story leads you into a dreamscape of an unstable mind, you will never really know which is real and which is just a figment of a confounded mind.

The author has the ability to draw her readers into her character's surrounding and make them feel what they felt. Her words are focused and never excessive, just the right amount to nudge us along.

I could really feel the sense of angst and powerlessness displayed by Drew the protagonist, it gave me such thrills and lovely goosebumps. Makes my heart squeeze with just the right amount of empathy not interfering with my deviant side wishing for more distressing situations for Drew.

If rape and suicide is a trigger for you, be forewarned then. The suicide attempt scene was almost poetic the way it was presented. On the other hand, the rape scene was quite intense and real. Made me wanted to gouge the perpetrator's eyes out, step on it, squish it to pulp.

In short, this book is DEFINITELY for me. Half the time while reading it, I was fretting over when that kinky straitjacket on that cover is going to ever come into play or will it not be at all? Gasp, I would have been devastated if the latter was the case. You see, I have an obsession with bondage, the stricter it is the better it was for me. I was saved from my impending depression when Ms. Waites delivers a highly stimulating straitjacket bondage sex scene combine with a sling harness to boot! Oh, how I love her.

So okay with the kinky stuff, the next point which appeals to me was the Asylum/Mental hospital setting which incidentally was another fascination of mine too.

Hence, how could I not love this book? It has such an appealing and potent combination with just the right formulation for me:

[Asylum] + [Straitjacket] + [Drugging] + [Noncon/Dubcon] + [Sinister Doctor] = Lovely amount of Angst and Powerlessness
- End Result: a one way ticket to Cloud9 forever

Actually, what further cemented a 5 stars rating was the ending. It was non-stereotypical as it dares to be different yet staying true to the story and its theme.

Ms. Waites has once again delivered another memorable piece of dark erotica. Her previous work, Gamble Everything was also a fine example of quality dark erotica. To me, Ms. Waites has successfully captured the essence of dark erotica; It's arousing yet so wrong on many levels.

It is rare to find good dark erotica that stays true to its theme. Most would just plaster on a HEA/HFN no matter how unnatural it was for the story and worst off, some turned downright fluffy at the end! There are also those with the misconception that being dark and erotic means torture porn all the way. I find it hard to be aroused when the other party isn't the least bit enjoying it that's why I find forced seduction to be the best balance.

If you love dark, all-shades-of-wrong kind of noncon cum borderline dubcon stories, this is for you.

They said I was crazy. I said they were crazy. They outvoted me.

Drew thinks he isn't crazy just outvoted by those around him even his own parents. I'll let you be the judge of it.

Previous Comment on November 16th, 2013:

So gonna eat this up and savor every moment of it.

This is going to be a good kinky ride. The ultimate fantasy comes true.

I hope for ample restrains in this book - the naughty kinds. Already loving that straitjacket on the cover.

Since loved this author's first work, Gamble Everything to bits. I am pretty sure this one would go on my favorites shelf as well given that I really like her writing style.

[REVIEW] The Last Rebellion by Lisa Henry

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Recommended for: Mindfunk and Twisted-love aficionados and Stockholm fans too.
Read from November 06 to 09, 2013 — I own a copy

4 Stars for the Chocolatey Goodness. I want to lick it all off Miller tho.

I still think they should go for Sensory Deprivation it is more effective and elegant than all that mighty ass-plowing. They were trying so hard to break the prisoner's back-door plumbing. Mayhap it's the theme and genre of this book as well as its premise that prompted such acts to be included. I just thought the back-door torture scenes was a little over enthusiastic. Note that I am only referring to the quantity. There are afterall, many ways to break a prisoner than sexual torture. Like Miller says... "The isolation was enough to make most men desperate to talk. Otherwise, there was starvation or torture or rape. There was water. There was electricity. There was, in every man, a desperate crawling need to say anything to just make it stop."

My take on the Characters:
The tortured prisoner-of-war MC, Rho Smith is as stubborn as a mule, prideful and suffering a one-track-mind mentality with an overly bravado attitude. Rho's bravado is only a shield of his choosing to sustain himself throughout his tortured captivity. He sees it as his only defense. Nevertheless a shield based only on anger alone isn't the best defense especially when it was countered by a sociopath interrogator with a demented set of logic like John Miller, best known as The-Silhouette-Man.

Miller was drawn to Rho's case when he received reports on an unbreakable prisoner of eighty-four days captivity which is an unprecedented record. He was fascinated with Rho's resilient spirit and was obsessed with unraveling it by all means possible, for his own personal gain.

This is Miller's brand of interrogation technique:
“Every time they fuck you,” the man says after a while, “I will be here.
Sometimes you will see me, sometimes you will not. I may talk to you. I may stay silent.
But you will feel me, Rho. Even when I don’t touch you, you will feel me.”

Rho needs a different approach than most men.
Most men, Miller would reward for answering, but he is reluctant to do that with Rho.
He is unsure how much is instinct and how much is the sheer fascination of seeing that body twist in pain.

Regardless, it was a kindness.

This way, Rho is allowed to hold onto his anger, the source of all his strength, for just a little longer.

Miller will take it when he’s ready, but not until he’s decided what he can replace it with.

Miller certainly has a warped sense of kindness. He is wayyy more fascinating than Rho. Rho is much easier to define and he is quite a flat-character and we only get to see another side of him towards the end of the story. Miller on the other hand is a multi-faceted character. At least, I had fun trying to define and identify his motives. Sometimes Miller is very much like a young child fascinated with a peculiar bug, enjoying experimenting with it; pulling its legs off one by one watching it struggle piteously to get back up again.

In essence, Miller is a sociopath. He is charismatic, manipulative, domineering, self-serving, self-justifying and lack of true remorse or guilt. Empathy really isn't his forte. I am seriously doubting what he did for Rho was actually love without recompense.

I had to say, this Miller guy is so much better than that Toreth guy in The Administration by Manna Francis as an interrogator. Although he might not be as cunning and intuitive as Warrick.

I failed to see how Miller would even find Rho to be fascinating when he is plainly predictable and nondescript. His bravado can be a little tiresome at times too. It feels like Rho isn't the main lead in this story as he is more of a supporting character. I guess Miller's strong presence and eccentricity overshadowed even Rho's hardship.

Frankly, Miller is the one holding my attention throughout the book. Rho is just a broken man waiting to be dispatched for good since he had only one goal ever since his incarceration; he prayed for eternal oblivion as he could no longer see any way out from his current hell on earth. Hence, there isn't much to look forward to when a character has already given up. He isn't cowing to his oppressor but he has effectively chosen death from the very beginning. That's why he would feel this way at the ending:
Spoiler:
Rho never saw it coming. - as he clearly didn't expect to live on and find someone who knows him well enough to be able to provide him with a sense of security he craves for. Someone he could let go completely and submit to without losing his pride. He is after-all a submissive who yearns to be dominated although it is a fact unbeknown to even he himself. He never did understand as to why he would submit to Miller his tormentor.

Moments that made me go Ooh, Aah and Yeowch!:

- Swooning much from the above passage alone.
“Stubborn.” Miller puts a hand around Rho’s throat and presses his
thumb into his windpipe. Gentle at first, and then with increasing pressure.
Slowly cutting off his air...

- Woah, asphyxiation edgeplay.
He’s turned again, shoved against the wall again, and flinches as the man rips the zipper up. He stands there, panting, so fucking relieved that his dick didn’t get caught in the zip.
- This actually made my heart skips a beat. I know I don't have those dangling bits but I just can't help cringing at this paragraph. O.o Weird that this little scene here is affecting me more than those rapes. *perplexed*

Wrapping up:
There is much gray areas in this controversial pair's relationship which I think is a good thing for us readers as it serves to intrigue us, making us want to read on just to find out more. To me, this is what a good engaging book should do. Makes life more interesting than black and white.

I truly enjoy Miller's way of taming Rho. Drawing forth his submissiveness slowly, silently, albeit surely. Here, I am only referring to the mindfucking part, not the excessive despoilment utilized to break him as that serves no purpose other than to humiliate him and in my opinion would only further fuel his stubbornness. Such a method is counterproductive for a man like Rho. I am impressed by Miller's use of...
Spoiler:
...the foreshawdowing method to distract Rho's focus on his anger.

“Is that what you meant?” he asks as he stands in its shade. “You put the tree in my head, back in that place, not to remember, but to—to foreshadow?”

I am actually quite conflicted on the rating part as I don't care for first half of the book much. It's the last half that did it for me. I was going to go with either 3 to 3.5 stars initially. What raised the bar for me was the eroticism in the last quarter of the book heating up the pages. It was delicious. I appreciate it very much that I had to declare a 4 stars rating cos of it.

This book would suit those who loves twisted-love and psychological games; the bending of one's mind to the will of another. Would Stockholm be a better word for it? Read it and decide for yourself.

[REVIEW] Expecting Andrew by Colin Milton

Recommended for: Don't be bothered. Not worth the price of USD6
Read on November 05, 2013 — I own a copy, read count: 1
Bought from Lulu.com on 16 Oct 2013 @ USD4.63 (discounted)

2 Stars Only. Totally not worthy of its price tag.

Taken around the bush the entire story only to find the elusive candy jar towards the last couple of pages.

I hate it when they do this to us readers. Especially for fetish short-stories books like this. Why can't they just give us readers what we obliviously wanted as per the advertised theme.

This book is close to USD5 for just merely 11,310 words. Hurts right? Hurts more when you aren't getting your money worth. This book is supposed to be all about ABDL, infantilism fetish cum femdom yet you'll only get your fix of it towards the last couple of pages??? Outrageous!

This is not my first book by this author, but this one lets me down totally. *sulking*
