Say yes to Uniporn! Freaking love the sweet surrender and the firm hand.

In comparison to the first book, Pride has upped the humiliation and degradation scale another notch, or rather several notches. Ahem.. that breeding scene was so intense I am melting alongside Copper in that stable under the watchful voyeuristic eyes of the ponies' masters. It's freaking hot! My ereader was smoking up my room. I was so aroused I wish for a pet of my own to go down on me while I watch that intense scene again and again. It could possibly be the highlight of the book really.

Copper is not an honest horse like he always claims to be. He is manipulative, cowardly, greedy and rather self-centered. Yet I couldn't help but to like him. His weak points makes him all the more real and interesting. He does have some likable traits as well and deep down inside he isn't a bad guy. He is just a regular underprivileged guy seeking for better things in life. Actually he is quite endearingly sweet in nature. Pleasing others seems to come naturally to him. Copper is a submissive down to the bones and a total happy bottom. An inborn mare instead of the stallion his master was grooming him to be. I think his hole would cheerfully suck any dicks as long as it makes his beloved master happy. That's how devoted and a good pet horse he is. He is a joy to be ridden and ridden hard would be his best reward for he is truly not fit to be the rider himself.

In Pride, Copper is no longer as self-conflicted as he was when he was first forced into the role of an animal, a mere pet to fulfill another man's dark desire. Copper has learned to appreciate his new lifestyle as a pampered pet and the biggest problem he has now is keeping his sexual disposition of a stud-loving horse a secret from the his master and the household. He fears of being thrown back to the derelict district where he had came from should his master finds out that he was being taken for a ride like a fool. Thing is, it is getting tougher hiding his secrets the more smitten he was by Eric his beautiful master. Would he be able to throw away the last shred of his protective layer in risk of losing his pride as a man? Discarding his remnant of humanity? Embracing his new identity makes him feels loved, alive and freer that without his shackles. It would make his beloved master very happy yet his pride would die along with Reuben the man he once was. Is Eric worthy his love? The Eric that has been and still could be cruel and harsh to him whenever things does not go his way. Still, Copper sees hope when he caught glimpses of Eric's tenderness. One thing for sure, Eric is very fond of his new pet horse and Copper has gained confidence that his precious head is not going to be displayed on the wall of that creepy dining room.

There are times when I felt that Copper is ready to wear a skirt and paint his nails in pretty rainbow colours. Yet I could not not like him. In a way his girlish side makes him all the more adorable even for a buffy guy like him. What I truly feel about Copper? Well I think he makes a damn fine pet horse. He's not going to be able to play stud horse for you but he is one that you'll love to cuddle with and watch him getting fucked hard by a studly stallion. Or you could just do it yourself and make him squeal for you. How delightful!

It is nice that this time around I could get to know Eric better rather than just watching him from a distance, puzzling over what makes him tick. I could feel Eric's loneliness and understands why he did what he did to fill that deep void left by his first stallion's premature departure and the sacrifices he had to make being a member of the ruthless Dal crime family. In a sense Eric is more fleshed out in Pride and that is good move or else he is just another face in the crowd.

While I must confess that there are certain parts that is rather baffling to me which mostly concerns Eric's action towards Copper. One involves his choice of atonement of the wrongs he did to his poor pet. The other I think best to save it since it is tough to avoid being a spoiler.

Overall, Pride is a bloody damn good human-equine erotica which also comes complete with engaging plots to get you glued to your ereader while you are vigorously beating the meat or polishing the pearl in frenzy.

Absolutely adored this book cover. The picture captures Copper in full equine fineries during a debauchery party at his master's mansion.

Innocent angels, desecrated by greed of man. Wings stolen and defiled they became Earthbound lost souls.

Falling Angels is definitely another dark, soul shattering story just like the rest of Cari Waites' work. Her stories are always unconventional and unpredictable. A story with sex trafficking as a theme combine with violence and torture of the body and soul is indeed heart-wrenching to read.

Despite feeling drained of hope, mutilated and stripped of humanity, Arkady is never ready to return to his maker. His will to live is like a self-sentenced prolongation of his agonies. He would live and breath and fuck for his masters. Their cruelty were relentless yet Arkady could never hate them. His biggest fear was to be worthless to his masters for that would only lead him to certain death. Arkady is crippled without a master.

Be warned that this book is not about love or redemption, it is about lost hope and dreams, total erasure of identity, harsh reconditioning of young men into mere sex object, a tragedy of lost innocence and lives. Even with most of the too hardcore stuff off-page, there's ample other disturbing events and elements to drag readers to the darkest void. Truthfully, I am actually finding it hard to feel the eroticism within its pages although it has body-modification which is one of my favorite kink in erotica.

Purified has a promising premise and theme, I loved the prose and I think that it could have been great if it wasn't for the weaknesses in the plotting and characterization. I find it difficult to relate to the characters as I felt that their motivations and behaviours are unrealistic. It made me constantly question their actions and reasonings. This is sad because I really do like the premise alot and it failed all because of a wonky execution.

If you wonder about the details to my conclusion especially the part about the plotting, please read this review because I wholly agree with that reviewer -- She. Nailed. It. Although please be warn that the review in the link is somewhat spoilerish.

WHAT MAKES ME PURR WITH APPROVAL...

I liked that the author understands there is no time to lose when it comes to short erotica and gets right down to business of the tentacles sexing and stays there to make the most of it. It was unlike so many other tentacle erotica that I've read which insist on bringing me on a merry go round circling a plot for ages before we could get to what matters most - the tent-sex. They always left me feeling cheated. But not Virgin Tentacle Sacrifice, it stays on course with its theme and I love the author for that. This fact alone is ranking up points from me. I love that I get what I was promised on the blurb and theme.

The tentacle monster here has quite a domineering and borderline sadistic streak. It was delightful to watch him tame his human pet. All that manhandling is making me all swoony. As an erotica, this book is totally right on the mark. It achieved what it is out to achieve even with the limited word count.

WORTH HIGHLIGHTING... WITH MORE PURRING...

The breathplay parts (yes, plural) are thrilling. It involves some drowning and choking and then odd underwater breathing assistance. Odd yes but original and brave. The underwater shagging was sexciting. It was later coupled with some hot and dangerous gang-banging which then lead to an in-sync spit-roasting. Hmm... this book kinda has it all ain't it? Even a bukkake from nine cocks!

THE NOT SO GREAT PARTS...

So here are some of my peeves. I found the writing somewhat inconsistent and this includes the characters as well especially the MC. At times the writing was also a little confusing. Like how a tentacle could turn into a cock in the middle of sex? Or where the hell did that cock comes from? Is he sucking on a cock now or was it one of the tentacles? Maybe it's just me losing focus on things. *shrugs*

The other thing is the insta-love which I find hard to believe. It's like the main character has ingested love potion, he was suddenly bursting with lovey dovey feels for someone who has been tormenting him continuously ever since they first met. Then again, maybe he is super masochistic. Or... he is still wet behind the ears, clueless on the matter of love.

VERDICT...

Overall, I liked it. It's worth the time reading and experiencing it. A couple of scenes did got me pretty excited, that's what counts most in erotica. I would definitely love to read other books by Mike Ox.

A 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 stars for all those funny moments.

It was kinda fun seeing the intriguing alien world through the sole narrator cum protagonist, Sam Beron aka Eron Burad of the Maradi species. The Maradis are space nomads who prefers living on board starship instead of being planetside. Sam is considered an outcast as he is clanless and loves staying planentside which was considered a taboo amongst his people. He just happen to be the odd one out that hates space flying.

There are plenty of funny moments with Sam's awkwardness in dealing with his surroundings and events. Makes one wonder if he has chosen the right career; he's currently a Locator, some sort of Private Investigator. Although to him it felt more than natural since he is an avid Earth detective TV series fanboy. So much so that he paid a small fortune to upgrade his translator implant just for the sake of watching these PI vids in its original language. Even his new moniker, Sam Beron after he was ousted by his own Maradi clan was inspired by these PI vids.

Truthfully I felt that apart from Sam's amusing antics and perviness he wasn't a compelling enough character to steer the story along. In other words he should shine or at least stand out more than the other side characters since he is supposed to be the protagonist of this story. Thing is, he felt more like a-not-so-important side character that lacks strong presence. I kept feeling that we could just lose him and go straight to the premise itself; the Borathians and their Bonds who serves them as pleasure slave and the conflict over slavery within the Verse and their own sacred rulings on the bonding process.

Unfortunately the main story was somewhat diluted due to placing too much focus on Sam and his surrounding. If this is a normal novel length story, such lengthy world-building are indeed golden. To be fair, I did find the world-building in this story delightful.

The story ended with a couple of unanswered questions such as why the Borathians place such importance on finding a slave to bond, why did they value their bonded slave so highly when it feels like they are not irreplaceable nor are they exclusive-fated-pairing with unbreakable bond. I also wish to learn more of those 'Energy-Exchange' between the Master Borathians and their bonded ones. The telepathy link between them is also an intriguing subject to explore further on.

Another part which I had hope to read more about was the interactions between the bonded slave and their master which was inadequate to appease my Master & Pet/Slave love appetite especially for a story that carries such a theme. Anyhoo, this is only a matter of personal preference.

I did enjoyed the part where Elia and his bonded Master, Raphael openly display their affection towards each other. It was a lovely sight to behold. Elia was like a sexy little kitten there seeking out some sweet attention from his master. *chuckles* I want to pet and cuddle him close too. Can't do the same with Liam cos he might scratch my eyes out.

Actually I couldn't quite figure out Liam the other Earth boy who was bonded to Zachariel another one of those all powerful Borathians. I didn't mean that he's uninteresting, it's just that he didn't get the chance to show more of himself as the story was short and time is limited.

While Raphael seems to be a decent and respectful master, Zachariel was quite the opposite which makes me wonder why on earth would Liam make that final decision when Sam asked him to choose. It just makes it harder to believe that...

Spoiler:

...they are in love with each other. Maybe that's because we don't have their background story to fall back on hence making their romance questionable.

I blame it on the weakness of short-stories which limits the time for proper elaborations to be made.

Overall, it was a fun story and one with much potential. I would definitely hope for a sequel or a prequel that focus on the Master & Pet/Slave; the bonding process, the conditioning techniques applied on the slaves and the tough loving the masters pours onto their slaves. *evil grin*.

4 Stars for the realism and for the heart racing intense BDSM scene

Human beings are fragile creatures especially mentally. We do tend to get hurt quite easily and some might even get themselves stuck in a never-ending loop of despair and anguish. Some would attempt to drown their pain with alcohol or even drugs, yet there are those who would seek external pain to counter internal pain. Just like how a cutter would try to take control of his emotion via physical pain. It's an unconscious call for help really. What Jesse, the protagonist did in this story was his way of seeking solace. He is not a stranger to pain and would welcome it as another form of comfort. He is a natural masochist and a true sub. He constantly need to let himself go and for others to take total control of him.

Jesse was devastated and depressed when Matt, his Master cum lover of 3-years dumped him for no apparent reason. To make things worst, his mother's cancer was back and she's fighting for her life and suffering for it. It's not surprising that Jesse being so lost in his mental anguish that he would seek to comfort himself in the only way he knows best; through physical pain and submission. Only what's wrong was the partner of his choice; Noah a reckless dom who doesn't give a damn on the welfare of his sub. He's a greedy, selfish bastard that only knows how to take but not give, that's why he isn't a proper dom nor should he be one at all. He is just plainly a sadist pretending to be a dom. And he is clearly taking advantage of Jesse's current mental state to manipulate him to his own benefit.

As for Matt, he is a commitment phobic dom who just loves to play without strings attached and he thinks Jesse is just too good for him. What he doesn't know is why does he thinks so? Why does he worry so much about the unfairness in their relationship? Deep down inside this confident and commanding man, is just a normal guy and he is clueless as to why Jesse makes him feel so differently.

Actually, I don't blame Matt for letting Jesse go. He has his reasons and I think it's fair and better than just leaving loose ends, encouraging wounds to fester. I'd say he did the right thing then and also later, when he face his own feelings and own up to his mistakes. That's the kind of man I respect.

Kol writes his stories with much realism and feelings and this one is one of it. His writings dares you to examine your own principles in life. He isn't shy on the subjects he wish to bring forth for his readers to ponder on.

On the shade of grey... I liked the intense sessions Noah gave Jesse. It made my heart goes all thumpy. *evil laughter* Well, you can't deny the eroticism there right? Even Jesse couldn't. Especially their first session.
